Gonçalo C. Silva is a visual artist based in Lisbon.

Gonçalo C. Silva (b. 1997) lives and works in Lisbon, Portugal. He has studied at both the Faculty of Fine-Arts in Lisbon and at Atelier de Lisboa, and is currently pursuing a MA at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities from NOVA University of Lisbon. In his work, which applies an artistic approach to photography, Gonçalo addresses themes related to the representation of the landscape, and to the relationship between humans and nature, focusing in the entanglements of heritage, presence, identity and belonging. In his projects, the interconnection of images from different contexts create new meanings and narratives with a strong symbolic character, related to the artist’s personal experiences.

2023 - 2025 Photography: Creation and Context @ Atelier de Lisboa in Lisbon. Lecture with Pedro Alfacinha and guest lecturers André Príncipe, António Júlio Duarte, Daniel Blaufuks, Pauliana Valente Pimentel and others.

2022 - Present Master Degree in Communication and Art @ Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities from NOVA University of Lisbon.

2021 - 2023 Photography project and book creation course @ Atelier de Lisboa in Lisbon.

2015 - 2018 Bachelor in Communication Design @ Faculty of Fine-arts in Lisbon. Attended initiation and advanced photography studies inside the course.
